Your Worst is Good Enough!

Special Anniversary Release

Everywhere you look, you see people striving for improvement. Be it the professional who trudges to the gym three times a week, the employee who unfailingly attends night classes even before going home from work, or the manager thinking about a career shift to improve his disposition. Enough already!

Research increasingly shows that we have more to gain by developing our strengths and leveraging our skills than by trying to repair our weaknesses. If you only ever work on your weaknesses, the best you get is good. Why not start with what’s already working and get from good to great? This is the topic under discussion during Advance Corporate Training Ltd.’s (ACT) 15-year anniversary party on September 15, 2005 at the Sutton Place Hotel in Vancouver.

Based on the “Reflected Best Self” exercise developed at the Harvard Business School, participants will be introduced to a diagnostic tool to help them see what they are like when they are at their best, using their strengths in a way that creates a positive expression for them and helps them make important contributions to their organizations, communities and society.

This strengths-centred approach provides constructive guidance in organizing one’s self and/or career around leveraging personal style, skills and resources to achieve fulfillment.

This anniversary celebration is a heartfelt thank you to those who have fueled ACT’s success. In addition to a multimedia anniversary presentation, there is a sit-down dinner consisting of a unique menu created by the master chefs of Sutton Place highlighting the unique dishes of the locations where ACT conducts business.

The Best Self seminar is a key part of the anniversary celebrations that ACT is providing as a gift to staff, suppliers and clients. The Best Self seminar is designed to help participants be more fulfilled and more easily accomplish their dreams and goals.
