ACT specializes in providing corporate assistance in leadership, communication, marketing and organizational assistance in governance and efficiency.

History  

Founded in 1990, ACT currently has more than twenty staff and contractors providing services. Founding director Janet Dean has been actively involved on all projects since inception. In addition to training over 4000 participants through the years, ACT trainers have made more than 45 conference presentations in their areas of subject matter expertise. In Spring 2003, ACT expanded operations overseas to Hebei, PR China.

Standards of Conduct  

All those affiliated with ACT must abide by the following standards of conduct.

  • All clients/customers and staff must be treated fairly and consistently.
  • All business dealings must be carried out with integrity and honour.
  • All concerns, problems or errors must be brought to the attention of the President forthwith.
  • All staff and contractors are welcomed and encouraged to provide feedback and suggestions in all areas of the business.
  • The right to maintain one's own culture, gender identity and sexual orientation must be upheld.
  • All laws and regulations pertaining to business and business dealings must be upheld.
  • All staff and contractors must be client and customer focused at all times.
  • Proprietary information, pricing, client communication, strategies and trade secrets of our clients and ourselves must be held in confidence.
  • No undue pressure may be placed on any individual to develop a business relationship with ACT.

Additionally ACT staff and contractors with classroom and/or training responsibilities must abide by the following additional standards of conduct.

  • No sales or promotions may take place inside of the classroom or while the instructor/student relationship is continuing.
  • Classroom sessions must be stimulating, primarily interactive and not lecture driven.
  • All efforts must be made to create a safe environment inside the classroom for all students. This means no racist, sexist, ageist (or other "ist") comments, examples or jokes and no inappropriate touching.
  • Participants must be allowed to be wrong with no recriminations.
  • All participants must be respected and treated as adults. All participants must be given equal opportunities and treated consistently.
  • All participant complaints or concerns must be brought to the attention of the President forthwith.
  • All instructional staff and contractors must model appropriate behaviour.
